Ira Feldman, Adaptation Leader founder and board chair, attended COP 27 in Sharm el-Sheikh to track developments relating to adaptation and resilience. At the COP, he presented on several panels, including at the Digital Innovations Pavilion. Lower right, Ira is with Miroslav Polzer who coordinated the pavilion and organized Climate Chain Coalition activities at COP 27.

The Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability asked Ira Feldman to summarize his COP 27 experience for their website blog:

“The United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) convened this year’s installment of the Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP) in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt. Over 40,000 attended the COP27 event, a sprawling affair that (as always) encompassed three components or “rings”—the official negotiations, the official and unofficial side events, and demonstrations by activists and protesters.”

Ira’s full commentary is available here.

After COP 27, Adaptation Leader reviewed numerous summaries and debriefs from diverse sources to identify the best available information. Our recommendations were compiled in the “Adaptation Leader Post-COP Reader” available here:
